All pupils are involved in up to two hours of Games each week. In addition, there are practice sessions every evening. Pupils in Years 10 and 11 are offered a GCSE Physical Education course. This course includes a compulsory Outdoor Education week in the summer term. Sports Studies is also a popular choice at 'A' level. The school offers many sports including Soccer, Netball, Cricket, Hockey, Dance, Table Tennis, Rounders, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball and Athletics to name but a few.

 

 

The school possesses a sports hall large enough to play Cricket and the extensive Sports fields house the rugby, soccer, cricket and hockey pitches.

 

Competitive matches are organised within the school (house matches) and against other schools. Pupils represent the District and County and the school attempts to offer opportunuities for transition after school. Wigton Rugby Club, Carlisle Cricket Club, Border City Swimming Club, Dalston Badminton Club, Carlisle Squash Club, Northbank Football Club, and Dalston Golf Club have all had pupils as members.
